Inside the VBMA Series Vertical Bed Mill

The VBMA Series from Lagun Engineering is built for shops that need space, accuracy, and reliable performance every day. This vertical bed mill is designed around a simple idea. Make the machine easy to use. Make it strong. Make it precise. Then let the shop do the rest.

    Built for Real Work

The open frame design is one of the biggest advantages of the VBMA. It gives the operator plenty of room to load large or awkward parts from different angles. Tool rooms, job shops, and prototype shops rely on this layout because it makes setups faster and safer.

Power comes from an NST forty spindle driven by a five horsepower inverter motor. This gives the machine smooth cutting performance across a wide range of materials.

    Strength and Stability

The table measures sixty two inches by nineteen point six eight and sits on a high grade, stress relieved casting. This foundation helps the machine hold tight tolerances and resist wear over time. All three axes run on hardened and ground double nut ball screws for consistent accuracy.

The X axis travels on a dovetail way while the Y and Z run on heavy box ways. Each surface is coated with turcite B to keep movement smooth and predictable even under long hours of use.

    Precision You Can Count On

Servo motors drive each axis through timing belt boxes that increase torque and improve control. Steel way covers protect the Y and Z from chips and coolant so the machine stays clean and accurate.

The VBMA delivers positioning accuracy within plus or minus four ten thousandths per foot and repeatability within plus or minus two ten thousandths per foot. For shops that measure quality in thousandths, this consistency matters.

    Simple and Familiar Controls

The VBMA uses the Fanuc Oi MF control system which is widely used in the industry. The pendant layout is straightforward with dedicated buttons that keep operation simple for both new and experienced
