#LagunNoFOMO: New from Lagun Maher Holding
Lagun’s Latest And Greatest Technology
IMTS is all about bringing your best to the table, showing off the newest tech solutions for all the machine tool world to see. In the spirit of this we’re bringing you the latest and greatest technology from one of our reputable manufacturers, our Spain based sister company Lagun Maher Holding. By using a creative approach and forward-thinking designs, Lagun strives to create innovative and problem-solving technologies. With their years in the machine tool industry they’ve developed unique engineering techniques which they use to find solutions with advanced applications. Two of their latest engineering solutions are the MLX Q Quill System, and the LU S/C Automatic universal milling head.
Lagun’s QUILL System
Lagun specifically designed their latest Quill System to be used on their MLX Q, taking this versatile machine to the next level of multi-functionality. this is because by adding this system, the MLX Q becomes capable of boring as well as milling. Designed with longevity and precision in mind, this ram integrated, automatic quill ensures high accuracy and cutting rate. Furthermore, the quill’s wide array of features enables it to accomplish difficult jobs such as internal machining and creating holes with small diameters.
A key feature of the quill is its Heidenhain linear measuring system. This system measures the motion and position of the quills W axis, ensuring high accuracy results when properly calibrated. The head’s pulling bar system lifts the outermost end of the ram. This is done to make up for any linear distortion that may commonly occur with ram movement. For additional rigidity two drawbars, and both mechanical and hydraulic compensators come integrated into the ram.
LU S/C Motorized Automatic Universal Head
The LU S/C is Lagun’s most competitive solution to a variety of today’s machining requirements. With 5-Axis capabilities, these automatic universal heads have high positioning accuracy, and an optional double motor configuration. Additionally, each rotational plane has a 0.001° resolution positioning, with ±5” accuracy. Both models come equipped with a high precision Kostyrka hydraulic braking system and high locking capacity. However, they differ in their axial motor abilities. The LU S comes equipped with one motor (pinion-rack) for each axis, while the LU C comes with 2 (double pinion-rack).
