Republic Lagun Machine Tool American Turnmaster AT-1550-G-TW Manual Lathe

The AT-1550-G-TW Manual Lathe is an American Turnmaster precision, high speed engine lathe. This machine comes equipped with the standard features associated with American Turnmaster Lathes. These include hardened and Reishauer ground gears, an alloy steel forged spindle, and Republic Lagun’s signature 3-V-Ways bed. The AT-1550-G-TW Manual Lathe comes with a D1-6 camlock spindle. The spindle assists with stability during heavy duty cutting. This model also allows the operator to stop or start the spindle. This is essential when working with heavy duty or unevenly distributed parts. Another key feature of this model is the mechanical disk clutch located in the headstock. This “Matrix Brand” disk clutch allows it to operate similarly to a Colchester type lathe.

The RL-1550-G-TW also has an optional Electronic Variable Speed (EVS) conversion, which provides full HP at all RPMs. This helps decrease energy consumption by delivering speed levels as needed, as opposed to consistently. By assuring it runs precisely at the users desired speed, the EVS head also avoids disturbing material during processing.
