In pursuit of continued excellence in manual lathes, Lagun Engineering recently released the American Turnmaster (AT) 22”, 26”, & 30” Heavy Duty Precision Lathe series. We’ve extended our line of  American Turnmaster manual lathes by providing new, versatile sizes. Constructed with outstanding features these mid-range-size manual lathes provide a user friendly experience, while maintaining highly accurate results, regardless of the job size.

Outstanding Features

Each lathe comes equipped with a heavy duty headstock, constructed with hardened and “Reishauer”-ground gears and shafts that drive the forged alloy steel spindles. Another standard feature on all models are three large heavy duty taper roller bearings wrapped around a 4” bore, which supports the spindle. All of these combined features guarantee optimum rigidity during heavy machining. Additionally, we’ve incorporated Republic Lagun’s signature 3-V-Way bed design, allowing for perfect alignment. This design eliminates any twisting, and especially important, eliminates reversal error when turning long shaft O.D.’s. Induction hardened and ground ways, combined with heavily ribbed meehanite cast iron beds, are radically solid with incredible vibration dampening qualities.

Dual inch/metric dials (also included) allows for quick-switch readings, reducing production time. Furthermore each lathe comes standard with a heavy duty 2-speed tailstock. The tailstock quill has inch and metric graduations and comes furnished with a tang for knock-out. It also comes equipped with a rack and pinion hand crank for quick and easy movement.

Our new American Turnmaster lathes are designed with a meticulous attention to detail. In addition to the previous description above this lathe series is packed with many other outstanding features, to include a constant HP motor, spindle jog, rapid speed Z-axis, front-pull chip trays, full length foot brake and a full length splash guard.

This series of lathes is available with all of the most popular accessories as well, and also features the option for an Electronic Variable Speed (EVS) conversion.

At Lagun Engineering, our mission is to achieve the exemplary results you’d expect of a new American Turnmaster lathe series. Call us to reserve your new American Turnmaster lathe.*
