Last year, Salt City Speed Shop completed an exquisite project on a Phaeton, which involved precision machining of the groove in the windshield to perfectly fit the glass—a task demanding utmost accuracy and reliability. The photos from this project highlight the meticulous craftsmanship and the role the Lagun FTV2 plays in achieving such high standards.

At the core of Salt City Speed Shop’s operations is the Lagun FTV2, a manual vertical knee mill known for its robust construction and precision. The FTV2 features induction-hardened and ground ways which are more consistent and precise than flame hardening. With square ways for rigidity and dovetail ways for accuracy on the knee, the mill is uniquely equipped to handle demanding tasks.
The FTV2 also boasts an extra wide saddle (23 inches) with Turcite to ensure smooth, non-stick, and precise travel for the cross and table movement. Powered by a constant 5 HP motorized head with a high velocity cooling system, the mill maintains a constant temperature, ensuring reliability during prolonged use.
